New Online Tutorial to Teach Students how to approach Library Research

We have just launched a new online tutorial, Web-based Information Search Process for Research (WISPR) in the Library. This modular tutorial is designed to assist students through the entire process of finding information, from topic selection all the way through to shutting down their search. We have incorporated multimedia features, tools, and activities to keep users engaged as they progress through the six phases. A generic version of the tutorial is available on the library website at http://library.ucalgary.ca/wispr

Librarians can also customize the tutorial to be used in a specific course or discipline. The exercises, examples, and particular tools can be selected to suit an assignment or subject area. For more information, or to have WISPR tailored for one of your classes, contact Shauna srutherf@ucalgary.ca or Chris cthomas@ucalgary.ca
